Blade Runner

Carbon clutches have been in the marketplace for a few years now, but have only really been applicable to mega-power builds. That is about to change with the launch of the Blade, Carbonetic’s (www.carbonetic.co.uk) new OEM replacement carbon clutch and a market first.

Not only should it be the cheapest carbon clutch on the market (full pricing is yet to be announced), but it is going up against the stage two clutch packages from some of the biggest names in the industry. The benefits of a carbon clutch are many: a short bedding-in period (within 100km), easy clutch modulation, lower inertia allowing faster shifts and superior friction characteristics.

The Blade clutch will be able to cope with up to 400bhp and similar torque levels, and is launching in two varieties: a three-puck design for NA and small turbo applications (Integra, Civic Type-R, Celica, Starlet) and a four-puck design for bigger turbo applications (Evo, Impreza, Skyline).
