While all eyes turned to Tokyo for the Subaru BRZ's global unveiling, Subaru's performance brand STI got in early at the LA Auto Show with its impression of how an STI version of the coupe might look.

While it is only a concept, the mixture that iconic WR paint (a new version called WR Blue Pearl II), flared arches, prominent aero additions at either end and lightweight 18” STI alloys is tantalising to say the least.

There's clearly an appetite for an STI model, so all we can hope is that Subaru doesn't make us wait too long for it. Oh, and can it be turbocharged too, please?
