As if the GT-R wasn't brilliant enough already, Nissan has found ways to improve it for the 2012 model year.
Power and torque both rise by 20 points, peaking at 550ps and 632Nm respectively (542bhp and 466lb/ft in old money), while economy is up to 24mpg. Improvements have been made in body reinforcement and the gearshift, but the most impressive example to slavish devotion to excellence is the fact that RHD models of the GT-R have an asymmetric suspension set up to account for the extra weight of the driver – clever, eh?
Nissan also announced that a more track-focused GT-R will be added to the line-up for 2012, which is great news for the more committed driver.
